Telangana JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Tuesday demanded that the government provide fee reimbursement to the students studying in private colleges besides strengthening government colleges in the State without further delay.The JAC chairman was speaking at a round table conference on fee reimbursement here on Tuesday. Kodandaram said private colleges were on the verge of closure because of the policies adopted by the government.
He expressed anguish over students losing their career because of the failure of the government to reimburse the fees.TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy said his party would question the government on fee reimbursement during the discussion in Assembly on Wednesday.He alleged that the government was trying to scuttle the voice of the Opposition parties in the House. He said the interest shown on Mission Bhagiratha was not shown in the studies of students.
TDP MLA R Krishnaiah alleged that the students who played a key role in the Telangana agitation were ignored by the TRS government. The government should reimburse the fee every year, he said, and threatened to take up an agitation if it failed to do so.Private Junior College Association president Satish said that the TRS government released Rs 1,958 crore after coming to power.
